Dogtrekking - Beskydský puchýř 2024
In June 2024, I had the incredible opportunity to participate in my very first dogtrekking race alongside my beloved Saluki, Cristine Deluca Moravia. Dogtrekking is a long-distance endurance sport that combines hiking with the companionship of your dog, where both human and canine tackle trails through challenging terrain. Participants are typically connected to their dogs by a belt and leash, fostering teamwork as they navigate the course together. It’s not just a test of physical fitness but also a rewarding way to strengthen the bond with your furry partner.
The experience was both thrilling and challenging, especially as we faced extreme weather conditions, with temperatures soaring above 30°C. Despite the heat and the demanding course, we persevered and managed to finish the race. Although Cristine was visibly exhausted afterward, her resilience and spirit shone through. Thankfully, she recovered quickly and is now back to her usual energetic and lively self, ready for new adventures. Participating in this race was an unforgettable experience that deepened the bond between us and left me inspired to take on more challenges together in the future.
