Beskydy Dogmarathon 2025
On the first weekend of September, Cristine and I took part in the Beskydy Dogmarathon 2025. Unlike last year, when we struggled with scorching heat at the Beskydy Blister dogtrekking event, this time we faced the complete opposite – rain, mud, and slippery trails.
The opening climb up Javorový was a real test: in just four kilometers we had to overcome 650 meters of elevation gain, and some sections were extremely steep. Cristine handled it brilliantly, and once the terrain leveled out, she set her pace and we powered on with a fast hike toward the finish line.
In the Short category (22 km, 950 m elevation gain) we eventually finished 17th out of 23 participants with an official time of 4:23:43.
And with this I can officially confirm: even a Saluki can be a mountain dog!
